BMC to start public awareness campaign 'SPARSH' against leprosy on 30th Jan

Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will start SPARSH, a public awareness campaign against leprosy from tomorrow under National Leprosy Eradication Programme. The campaign will last upto 14th February. BMC will organize exhibitions  in all its 24 administrative zones. Besides, there will be other programmes about creating awareness against leprosy like taking oath by school and college students, organizing street plays at various places in BMC jurisdictions, organizing leprosy camps. Also, BMC will carry out  door to door campaign to conduct a survey. Civic body executive medical officer Dr. Mangala Gomare has appealed people to co-operate with employees who will come for survey.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Slogan of SPARSH programme this year is Kushrog muktikade Vatchal (way ahead towards leprosy free). Dr. Gomare said that, if a leprosy patient gets immediate diagnosis and treatment, he comes out of  disease.</span><br />''<br />
