BMC to provide free COVID-19 testing facility at 244 places under its jurisdiction

In its bid to get more effective control over the spread of COVID-19 infection in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is continuously taking all-around measures. As part of these measures, the BMC will provide free COVID-19 testing facilities at 244 places under its jurisdiction from tomorrow. <br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports, from tomorrow, free COVID-19 testing facilities will be available for Mumbaikars at 244 places under the jurisdiction of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) daily between 10 am to 12 noon on a 'walk-in' basis. <br />''<br />''Some of these places will have RT PCR method medical testing facilities while the rest will have antigen-based medical testing facilities. There are already 54 private medical laboratories in the BMC area which provide COVID-19 testing facilities as per the revised government rates. The BMC will now have more than 300 COVID-19 testing facilities made available for the Mumbaikars. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani said this will help in increasing the number of tests as well as timely diagnosis. He added that as a result, it will be possible to prevent COVID-19 infection more effectively.
