<span style="color: #222222;">The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to float global tenders to procure COVID-19 vaccines after it was asked to explore the possibility of global procurement of vaccines by Mumbai Suburban guardian minister Aditya Thackeray. The guardian minister discussed the issue with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the BMC has taken initiative in this direction.<br />''<br />''Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray has said that the efforts to increase vaccination centres in Mumbai as well as in the state are continuously on and that the BMC will have a centre in every municipal ward, along with a drive-in vaccination centre across all zones of Mumbai. Aditya Thackeray formally requested this to Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and BMC  commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. According to Mumbai Mayor the tenders for procurement of vaccines will be floated within two days. BMC is continuously working to increase the vaccination centres and has also decided to increase the number of drives in vaccination centres which are getting good response from the citizens. The civic body has also issued guidelines for the vaccination policy of housing societies partnering with hospitals for vaccination within society premises. Taking the cue from these efforts, Aditya Thackeray has urged the other cities in Maharashtra to set up drive-in vaccination centres for senior citizens. He has also underlined the need to have a system for the registration of non techno savvy people who are facing difficulties for the registration on CoWin.</span><br />
