Blueline buses not to ply in Delhi from Dec 14

No blueline buses in the national capital will ply on the roads from 14th of December. This was announced by the Delhi Transport Minister Mr. Arvinder Singh Lovely after a meeting held with bus operators today. Talking to reporters after the meeting, he said that safety of the people is the priority of the government. He said that there are around 2,400 blueline buses operating in the capital of which 1,600 where shunted out ahead of the Commonwealth Games. He said, 835 buses were allowed to ply in non-NDMC areas from last week and a notification will also be issued soon to revoke their permits. This leaves only 800 blueline buses to ply in the capital till 14th of December. When asked about the inconvenience to the commuters, Mr. Lovely said that 6500 buses available in the fleet of DTC, will ease the hardships of commuters.
