North India continues to sizzle under relentless heat wave conditions with temperature rising as high as 48.1 degree celcius in Barmer in Rajasthan. Other parts of north and western India also continue to witness high levels of heat. <br/><br/>According to the Met Department, there will not be much respite from the heat wave in the next 24 hours. <br/><br/>Mercury is bent upon breaking all past records in Rajasthan as it reaches a high of 48.1 degrees in Barmer and 47.7 degree celcius in Churu. In New Delhi, temperature soared to a high of 43.6 degrees which is 3 degrees above the normal. <br/><br/>In Haryana, Hissar once again was the hottest at a sizzling high of 47 degree celcius while Ludhiana in Punjab registered a high of 42.5 degrees. In Uttrakhand, there was no respite from the heat even after hailstorms as Dehradun witnessed a maximum of 38.1 degrees which is 5 degrees above the normal. <br/><br/>With weathermen predicting unabated heat in the next 24 hours inspite of isolated showers in the north west , the longing for a good monsoon keeps getting stronger. <br/>
