Blast near Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, 8 injured

In Bangalore, at least eight people including three policemen were injured in two explosions outside the Chinnaswamy stadium delaying the IPL cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers, Bangalore. The players were sent back to the dressing room as the packed stadium was awaiting for the start of the match at 4.00 p.m. The two team captains have now arrived at the stadium for the toss.<br/><br/>The City Police Commissioner, Shankar Bidari said that the explosions were of low intensity and there is no cause for panic. He said the match will go ahead. Police and the ballistic experts are investigating the blast area which occurred near Gate No.12. The explosives were apparently kept on a wall.
