In Dehradun, One person was killed in a blast in forests near the firing range in Raipur area on Wednesday. According to Senior superintendent of Police G. S. Martolia a scrap dealer identified as Ramashish Sahni, hailing from Muzzafarpur in Bihar died on the spot in the blast which was apparently caused when the scrap dealer was carrying a shell collected from the firing range.Apparently the shell that the scrap collector had found had failed to explode during the practice in the firing range. Shri Martolia told AIR that it could have exploded while he was either carrying or trying to extract the metal from the shell. According to AIR correspondent a similar blast had taken place last year as well.
