An Iranian official has said that the fire at the provincial city of Abadan’s oil refinery was not intentional and it was started due to the flying sparks. According to Iranian news agency IRNA, the head of Abadan’s Governor Office Hamid Qana'ati told that the fire was broken out at the third phase of Abadan’s refinery minutes after it was inaugurated on Tuesday morning. He said that one of the victims died while 25 persons, mostly fire fighters, were hurt due to burns and for inhaling poisonous gases. The third phase of Abadan’s refinery was inaugurated by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday.
