Black Fungus declared an epidemic in Bihar

<span style="color: #222222;">The Bihar government has declared Mucormycosis disease as epidemic. The decision was taken at a Core Group meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The Mucormycosis disease also known as Black Fungus has been declared an epidemic under the Epidemic Disease Act, 1857. Under this  Act Government and private hospitals will have to inform the health department through a civil surgeon.<br />''<br />''The State Government has made special arrangements at four hospitals in Patna including AIIMS, PMCH, IGIMS and NMCH. In all, 174 cases of Black Fungus have so far been reported from different parts of the state. The Chief Minister said patients will get free medicine for Black Fungus.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the number of fresh COVID-19 cases is continuously declining in the state. The state's recovery rate has risen to about 93 per cent, while the test positivity rate has declined to 3.11 per cent. Over six lakh thirty six thousand 224 people have recovered from the infection so far. Four thousand 375 fresh COVID cases were reported in the state during the last 24 hours and Eight  thousand 676  people recovered yesterday. Active case in the state is decreasing and it is 49 thousand 907.<br />''<br />''Over 96  lakh thirty six thousand people have been vaccinated in the state so far.</span><br />
