Congress says, the government’s move to allow Foreign Direct Investment – FDI – in multi-brand retail sector is a well-thought out decision in the larger interest of the country.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, party spokesman Manish Tiwari said the opposition should realize the difference between constructive and disruptive opposition. He charged the opposition with derailing the functioning of Parliament and termed as opportunistic the BJP’s stand on FDI.

Replying to a question, Tiwari said that Congress is holding discussions with some of its UPA allies, who are opposing the decision on FDI.

Tiwari said, the government is ready to discuss on adjournment motion on black money and price rise.
