BJP's 95 days Vistaar Yatra led by party President Amit Shah begins from Jammu

BJP President Amit Shah today kick-started the 95-day vistara yatra programme in Jammu to expand the party's footprint in the country. <br/><br/>Addressing intellectuals and prominent citizens in the city this evening, he said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has taken the country to new heights of development. <br/><br/>Highlighting the success achieved by BJP in elections recently, he said, it shows the programmes and policies of the Modi government have been well received by the people. <br/><br/>He said the developmental model adopted by the government has been very successful. He maintained that BJP has been given a mandate by 70 per cent of the population.<br/><br/>Earlier, Amit Shah had a meeting with the BJP Ministers, MPs and other leaders in the State to discuss measures to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

BJP's 95 days Vistaar Yatra led by party President Amit Shah begins from Jammu

BJP President Amit Shah reached Jammu this morning as part of the BJP's 95-day Vistaar Yatra that began today. Mr. Shah is accompanied by MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh who is also the BJP MP from the state. <br/><br/>The BJP president was received by the party's State President Sat Sharma and the Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh at Jammu airport. The BJP leaders and workers also organised a welcome rally on the arrival of the party president. During his two day stay in Jammu, Mr. Shah is scheduled to meet party's state core group, BJP Ministers and legislators in the state. Besides this, he is also scheduled to hold meeting with prominent members of civil society and inaugurate e-library at BJP's State office at Jammu. <br/><br/>During the 95-day all-India tour, the BJP president will strategise on ways to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election, with focus on clinching 120 seats where the party had lost in 2014. The tour will focus on taking stock of the party's organisational strength and further expansion of electoral appeal across the country. Mr Shah is particularly focusing on states like West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana and Kerala. <br/><br/>Mr Shah's voyage will end by 25th September, the 101th birth anniversary of Jana Sangh ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Apart from his 95-day tour, Mr Shah has also chosen five states where he will spend three days each. His recent visit to West Bengal was part of the programme. Besides West Bengal, he will visit Odisha, Telangana, Lakshadweep and the poll-bound Gujarat.
