BJP wrests power in Rajasthan from Congress; retains power in Madhya Pradesh & C’garh ; emerges as single largest party in Delhi

BJP has won a landslide victory in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and retained power in Chhattisgarh in the assembly elections. Though Delhi has voted for a hung assembly, BJP emerges as the single largest party in assembly elections; Aam Admi Party led by anti-corruption crusader Arvind Kejriwal emerges as a Political force in Delhi. After the Congress debacle, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have resigned.
The BJP wrested power in Rajasthan from Congress and retained power in Madhya Pradesh by posting a two third majority in both the states. After a sea-saw battle in Chhattisgarh, BJP managed to cross the magic mark of 45 seats to claim majority.
The two Chief Ministers of the BJP ruled States – Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh and Dr. Raman Singh, Chhattisgarh and Congress ruled Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have won. The counting for Mizoram assembly election will be taken up tomorrow.
