<span style="color: #222222;">The BJP has welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict on demonetisation of high value currency notes saying that the decision taken in the interest of the country has been upheld. Addressing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the demonetisation scheme was implemented with an objective of curbing terror funding and black money. He said, it was the biggest blow to terrorism. He came down heavily on Congress for its opposition over the note ban alleging that the opposition party has protected and promoted the informal economy elements in the country. Mr Prasad termed the verdict as historic saying India has become the leader of digital payment which was promoted by the note ban.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Congress has said that the Apex Court verdict has nothing to say on whether the stated goals of &nbsp;demonetisation were met or not. Party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said that none of the goals related to reducing currency in circulation, moving to cashless economy, curbing counterfeit currency and ending terrorism has been achieved. He also said that the verdict deals with the limited issue of the process of the decision making not with its outcome.</span><br />
