BJP welcomed the government’s decision to suspend the FDI in multi-brand retail till a consensus is reached on the issue. Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday, senior Party leader S S Ahluwalia said that the Parliament could have taken up important legislative business if the government had withdrawn the decision earlier.
Replying to a question, Mr Ahluwalia said that his party is in favour of regulating objectionable content on various websites. He said that anything which hurts the religious or ethical sentiments of people or hurts the public image of people should not be put on the internet.
