Top leadership of BJP met in New Delhi today to discuss the fate of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. Party Chief Nitin Gadkari, senior leaders L K Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley discussed the political crisis in Karnataka.The BJP high command also summoned Yeddyurappa to New Delhi to explain his position to the central leadership. Under mounting pressure to quit over alleged land scam, Mr Yeddyurappa is making a last ditch attempt to convince the BJP high command that he should be allowed to continue in the top post. Mr Yeddyurappa is reaching New Delhi this evening to present his case. Beleaguered Chief Minister appeared to strike a defiant note saying he has the support of 120 MLAs and that there was no successor for him.Talking to reporters in Bangalore after a meeting with his loyalists, Yeddyurappa accused JDS Chief Deve Gowda of adopting double standards and revengeful politics.The JDS has levelled a fresh charge against Yeddyurappa's kin that they had sold land worth 20 crore rupees to a mining firm and raised doubts about its ownership. However, Yeddyurappa has rejected the charges and claimed the opposition wanted to topple his government.
