In Uttar Pradesh, the second leg of BJP's Parivartan Rath Yatra will shortly be flagged off by Party President Amit Shah from Jhansi. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, State BJP Head KP Maurya and other senior leaders will also be present on the occasion.

AIR correspondent reports that there is a total of nineteen Vidhan Sabha seats in Budelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, out of which BJP could secure only three in 2012 elections. Though it won all the four Loksabha seats of the region in 2014 but it lost two of the assembly seats in by-poll held after Loksabha elections.

In these circumstances, this Parivartan Yatra becomes more important for the BJP which is trying hard to garner the maximum support of the people of Bundelkhand who have been hit hard by natural calamities in recent years.
