BJP to send party observer to Gujarat to elect new leader to succeed Narendra Modi as CM

The BJP Parliamentary Board at its meeting in New Delhi yesterday decided to send party leader Thawarchand Gehlot as observer to Gujarat to hold a meeting of legislative party in the state to find a new leader to succeed Narendra Modi as Chief Minister.

BJP Parliamentary Party will meet in New Delhi on Tuesday to formally elect Narendra Modi as its leader. The Parliamentary Board meeting, chaired by party President Rajnath Singh, was attended by senior party leaders including L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitely, Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari.

Later, briefing reporters Rajnath Singh said, NDA allies will also be invited for a meeting on the same day after the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting.
