BJP to pressurize centre on price rise

The BJP President Mr Nitin Gadkari on Monday invited left parties to join the rest of opposition to put pressure on the government on the price rise issue in the forthcoming budget session of parliament. Addressing a press conference in Delhi, he said, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Mrs Sushma Swaraj will fine tune the strategy with all like minded parties on this issue. He said, BJP has launched an agitational programme to highlight the price rise issue and is organizing protest demonstrations across the country. The party is organizing a Dharna in the national capital on Wednesday. He charged the UPA with failure of the economic policies that resulted in higher food inflation. Mr Gadkari alleged that the prices of wheat, sugar, rice and pulses have doubled in past few months and demanded removal of food articles from commodities exchange forward trading list. He called for creating enough buffer stocks saying there is manipulation by hoarders and black-marketers to hike the prices.
