The BJP today decided to move a Privilege Motion against Home Minister P. Chidambaram. The party has accused him of showing disrespect to Parliament by making a statement outside on the recent controversy over helping a local hotelier allegedly.

Senior BJP Leader S. S. Ahluwalia told reporters after the Parliamentary Party Meeting that the decision was taken at the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting held under the chairmanship of L. K. Advani. Leaders of the Opposition in Houses, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, along with other senior leaders of the party were also present.
