BJP to decide on support to Mamata after consulting NDA allies

The BJP today said that it will take a decision whether to support a no confidence motion proposed to be moved by the Trinamool Congress against the UPA government on the issue of allowing FDI in the retail sector after consulting with NDA allies. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, after BJP Parliamentary Board meetng, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said the party will fine-tune its strategy as to how to derail FDI in retail in Parliament during its upcoming Winter Session after consultations with the NDA allies and other political parties opposed to FDI in retail.
Mr Prasad said, veteran leader L K Advani presided over the meet, which was attended by party's top leadership. Our correspondent reports,
the principal opposition party is also expected to hold to compel the UPA government to withdraw its decision to allow multi-national companies set up shops in the retail sector in the country. in the Winter Session of Parliament that begins on Thursday. Mr Prasad said, the party also condoled the death of people during the Chhath puja celebrations in Bihar.
Congress party, however, is confident of numbers. Speaking to reporters yesterday, party spokesperson Sandip Dikshit said his party is confident of numbers and will prove majority on the floor of Lok Sabha when ever any such motion comes.
