BJP, TDP announce pre-poll alliance in Telangana & Seemandhra regions

The BJP and TDP today announced a pre-poll alliance in Telangana and Seemandhra regions for the ongoing general elections despite protests from the party leaders. BJP spokesperson Prakash Jawadekar and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu announced this at a press conference in Hyderabad a short while ago. According to the deal, the TDP conceded 8 Lok Sabha and 47 Assembly seats to BJP in Telangana region and 5 Lok Sabha and 15 Assembly seats in Seemandhra Region.

Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said the alliance has been clinched mainly keeping the national interest in view and the aim is to form Corruption-Free India. Mr Naidu said the aim is to defeat the Congress party at the national level. Referring to the protests from the party men, he said sacrifices are unavoidable when national interests are considered. Jawadekar said BJP President RajanathSingh has called Mr Naidu approving the alliance.
