BJP takes on Govt over price rise

The BJP today unveiled a two-pronged attack on the government announcing massive agitation on price rise and warned of a political confrontation against any plans to give autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir.<br/> <br/>Facing criticism over its role in the Opposition, the party, which conluded its two-day National Council meeting at Indore gave ample indications that it would be proactive on the issue of internal security and terrorism.<br/> <br/>It also pledged to fight tooth and nail any move to grant reservation on the basis of religion in the wake of the Rangnath Mishra Committee report. The party will gherao Parliament on April 21 on the issue of price rise with Gadkari asking partymen to ensure that the protest should be a record breaking one.<br/> <br/>On the concluding day of the Council, the BJP formalised a generational change in the organisation by installing Nitin Gadkari as the new party chief.
