Bharatiya Janata Party has suspended party leader Gulab Singh Kirar, who has been named in an first information report by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The agency is probing the state's Professional Examination Board scam VYAPAM.

Gulab Singh Kirar, who is a member of the state backward class and minority welfare commission, was suspended from the party yesterday, a day after the CBI booked him in connection with the scam. The Special Task Force had lodged an FIR against him and his son Shakti Pratap earlier for allegedly securing admission in Pre-PG in 2011 through fraudulent means. However, the party did not act against him then.
