The BJP today suspended senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Ram Jethmalani from the party. Mr Jethmalani has, in the last few days, openly taken on the party, including on the appointment of the new CBI chief. Mr. Jethmalani has also challenged the party to take action against him.

Party spokesperson Sahnawaz Hussain told reporters in New Delhi this evening that the party president Nitin Gadkari took decision to suspend Mr. Jethmalani from the party. He said, BJP Parliamentary Board take a final decision tomorrow evening.
