In Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party today stalled the proceedings of the state legislative assembly for the second consecutive day. The Speaker Mr. Pratapsingh Rane had not permitted the adjournment motion sought by the opposition seeking sacking of state Education Minister Mr. Atanasio Monserrate alleging his involvement in transferring unaccounted Indian and foreign currency outside the country. When the house met this morning the opposition leader Mr. Manohar Parriker supported by his partymen pressed their demand to sack the education minister after he was detained by the Air Intelligence unit of the customs authorities on saturday last at Mumbai airport in an alleged attempt to smuggle unaccounted Indian and foreign currency to the tune of over twenty four lakhs. The speaker, however did not permit and adjourned the house till 2.30 p.m.
