In Maharashtra, Bharatiya Janata Party today staged a protest for reopening of temples in the state.<br />'' <br />''In one such protest party leader Prasad Lad was detained along with other party workers by Mumbai Police during a demonstration outside the famous Siddhivinayak temple at Dadar, after protesters tried to enter the temple amidst heavy police deployment and barricading.<br />'' <br />''The BJP is organizing protests across Maharashtra, demanding all temples in the state be re-opened for devotees.<br />'' <br />''The party is arguing that if hotels, restaurants and bars can be opened after issuing Standard Operating Procedures, why not the places of worship.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, sought re-opening of places of worship with COVID precautions.<br />'' <br />''He said, during last three months many delegations have met him on the issue demanding the re-opening of the places of worship, which included religious leaders, individuals NGOs and political leaders.<br />'' <br />''Reminding that the places of worship in Delhi were opened on 8th of June and across nation in end of June and that there was no surge in COVID-19 cases, he requested to announce forthwith reopening of all places of worship with necessary precautions.<br />'' <br />''The Chief Minister while reacting to this letter said like imposing lockdown all of a sudden was not right, revoking it completely at once will also be not a good thing.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The CM's letter said the CMO will look into the Governor's request and take a decision in this regard soon.</span><br />
