BJP slams Varanasi administration for not permitting rally in city tomorrow

BJP today came down heavily on Varanasi district administration for denying permission to Narendra Modi to hold a rally in the holy city tomorrow.

Our Allahabad correspondent quoting official sources in Varanasi reports that the BJP leader was denied permission as the venues requested by his party have already been booked by other parties.

According to the district officials BJP had requested holding the rally at Binyabad or Raja Talab area in the city.

Meanwhile, BJP sources said that it will approach the Election Commission for action against the District Magistrate.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman alleged that the district administration obeyed SP government's order to disallow Modi to campaign in his constituency. She said the move is unacceptable and undemocratic.

Sitharaman criticized Rahul Gandhi for making false statements about Modi giving land to industrialists at throwaway prices in Gujarat. She said a report by the Ministry of Commerce has found Gujarat land acquisition policy worth emulating.
