Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that BJP should become all inclusive so that every section of the society is represented in it. Launching the party's membership drive at BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday evening, Mr. Modi said that India is a country with full of diversities and the same should be reflected in the party. He said that there is a big difference between being a member of political party now and in the past as people expects them to resolve their problems.

Dismissing the public impression that politics is dirty, Mr. Modi said, had it been Mahatma Gandhi would never have ventured into this.

The Prime Minister also asked the BJP President to invite leaders from other democratic parties of the world to study the party membersip model to make it a subject of research.

Later, Mr Modi also enrolled himself as the first member of the party as it is necessary for every member to renew the membership every six years.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP President Amit Shah said that the drive will continue till March next year. Traditional method as well as online medium will be used during the drive.
