BJP, Shiv Sena to fight Maharashtra polls as alliance partners: Rajiv Pratap Rudy

BJP General Secretary and party in-charge of Maharashtra Rajiv Pratap Rudy has confirmed that Bharatiya Janta Party and Shiv Sena will contest Assembly elections in Maharashtra as alliance partners and clarified that there is no tension between two parties on seat-sharing.

Rudy arrived in Mumbai last evening to meet BJP leaders and workers. He said, both the parties are mature and an agreeable seat-sharing formula will be worked out soon.

Shiv Sena President Udhhav Thackarey while speaking to media in Mumbai yesterday made it clear that his party wants an alliance with the BJP for the upcoming Assembly polls in Maharashtra and he will not do anything that may endanger their alliance.

According to BJP sources Rudy may also meet Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray to take the seat-sharing talks to next level. However, both parties have officially not confirmed it yet.

With only a month left for Assembly elections in Maharashtra, tension is growing between Bharatiya Janata Party and its long-time ally Shiv Sena as both parties have still not arrived on a conclusion on the seat-sharing formula.

Both parties are firm on their stand with BJP demanding 135 seats and Shiv Sena defusing to compromise on the number.
