A power sharing formula has been finalized in a meeting held late last night between Shiv Sena leaders and BJP leaders at Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s official residence 'Varsha' in South Mumbai. Shiv Sena leaders Subhash Desai and Anil Desai met Mr Fadnavis to discuss the issue. Senior ministers Sudhir Mungantiwar, Vinod Tawde, and Chandrakant Patil were also present in the meeting.
Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde said that various power sharing formulas were discussed during the meeting and one of them was finalized. He also stated that top leaders of both the parties will discuss on the formula today and take a decision.
Earlier yesterday, the Chief Minister had expressed confidence that a positive outcome would emerge out of the talks with Shiv Sena on the allotment of portfolios. He said that the negotiations are heading towards a positive conclusion and that Shiv Sena is almost in agreement with BJP’s 2:1 seat sharing formula.
