Intensifying its attack, BJP today came down heavily on Congress following conviction of former Union Minister P K Thungon in a 1998 graft case. Thungon, the then minister of state for Urban Development and employment in the P V Narasimha Rao government was involved in misappropriating money meant for an irrigation project in Nagaland. <br/>Briefing media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Sambit Patra said the skeletons of corruption of yesteryears have been tumbling out of the closet of Congress. He said Thungon was a close associate of Indira Gandhi. <br/><br/>He said Congress needs to introspect as state after state ruled by Congress are exposing cases of corruption. The BJP spokesperson also said there has been no misappropriation in NDA government's one year and 4 months' rule.<br/>Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said Congress should own responsibility for the conviction of one of its very senior leader.
