BJP says, by-poll results do not show decline of Modi wave

BJP today said, by- poll results should be viewed as by- polls only not main polls.

Party leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar told media in New Delhi that the results are being misinterpreted as decline of Modi wave in the country.

He said that people are with BJP and his party will show its strength in the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana.

Another party leader Shrikant Sharma said that by-elections are contested on local issues and their results should not be linked with the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country.

Talking to AIR, Sharma admitted that the results are not up to the expectations of the party and it will analyze the reasons behind the defeat and will take corrective measures.

Sharma also said, Samajwadi party government should not see this result as a clean chit to its bad governance in Uttar Pradesh.
