BJP today approached Election Commission requesting it to restrain leaders of major political parties from making irresponsible and baseless allegations against Narendra Modi. The party submitted a memorandum to the poll body in this regard. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, BJP leader J P Nadda said that the Enforcement Directorate has found no connection between Modi and Hawala operative Afroz Fatta. But Congress is misrepresenting the fact for having alleged link with the Hawala operative. The party also urged the Commission to take appropriate action against Priyanka Gandhi, Beni Prasad Verma, Lalu Prasad, Farooq Abdullah, and Derek O' Brien for making derogatory remarks against Modi.
BJP also complained that Urban Development Minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath has violated model code of conduct by changing land use pattern in Aravali forest area in Haryana. Complaining large scale rigging in recently held polling in Ferozabad Lok Sabh seat in Uttar Pradesh demanded re-polling.
