BJP today released a chargesheet blaming Congress led UPA government responsible for , what it called, a dark decade in governance. Party leaders including Mukhtar Abas Naqvi, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Nirmala Sitharaman released the document which alleged the incumbent government of being the most corrupt government in independent India.
Party national spokesperson Prasad accused Congress President Sonia Gandhi and vice President Rahul Gandhi of compromising the dignity and integrity of Prime Minister's office. The main opposition party picked holes in the government's policies on economy, defence and national security, and neglect of North-East.
It said the government has failed to adopt an effective Foreign policy or enhance capacities of the Armed Forces to adequately meet the threat arising from China's belligerent posture along the Indo-Tibet border. It found the internal security environment deteriorating and said violence against women has caused tremendous insecurity among people. It said the government has failed miserably to check the flow of illegal immigrants to India.
The charge sheet alleged that twenty one scams took place during the last ten years of the UPA. Prasad claimed that allocation on health care was slashed by more than twenty percent in this year's budget presented by the finance minister P Chidambaram.
