The BJP has rejected the Opposition allegation that India has slipped to 100th position this year from 55th in 2014 as Global Hunger Index report. The Party spokesperson, G V L Narsimha Rao in a statement said that the allegation is baseless and beyond facts. <br/><br/>He said, India's score in the Global Hunger Index has been continuously improving. The party statement came after the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's veiled attack on the government over the issue. Mr Rao said, the position of India in the Global Hunger Index has not dropped by 45 points compared to 2014.<br/><br/>He said, in 2014, India's ranking was 55th but at that time only 76 countries were included in the ranking. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is witnessing development.
