BJP has reiterated its stand to support the Telangana Bill in Parliament but said everyone concern should be addressed. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today had a luncheon meeting with top BJP leaders to discuss the smooth functioning of Parliament and passage of important pending legislations, including the Telangana and anti-graft Bills.
Highly placed sources said there is no clarity whether the Telangana Bill will be tabled in Parliament tomorrow or not. On anti graft bills, the sources said BJP leaders have yet not made up their mind. However, earlier, BJP President Rajnath Singh had said the fate of these legislations must be left for the next government to decide as the present government have no moral right to bring any Bill against corruption.
Senior BJP leaders L K Advani, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and party President Rajnath Singh attended the meet. Union Ministers A K Antony, Kamal Nath, Sushilkuamr Shinde and P Chidambaram were also present there.
AIR Correspondent reports, the meeting was significant as the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are facing continuous disruptions on various issues since the beginning of the extended winter session from 5th of this month.
