The BJP on Tuesday regretted the ill-treatment of an Indian diplomat in Yiwu city near Shanghai who was trying to resolve a business dispute between Indian traders and domestic suppliers.

In a statement in New Delhi , BJP spokesman Tarun Vijay said that China must conduct an inquiry and act against those responsible for the ill-treatment. He said that the Chinese authorities must hold a detailed inquiry and take appropriate action against those responsible for the incident violating international norms.
