BJP protests proposed hike in electricity tariff in Rajasthan

In Rajasthan Assembly, BJP on Thursday protested on the proposed hike in electricity tariff in the State. During question hour, the Energy Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that three electricity companies have represented in Eletricity Regulatory Commission for 19 to 24 per cent hike in eletricity tariff. He assured that this proposed increase in rates will not affect the farmers and BPL families of the State. BJP and CPI(M) MLAs protested heavily and walked out from the House over this issue. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also assured that the electricity tariff for agriculture will not be increased. During Zero Hour also BJP MLAs raised the issue of death of 15 women after giving berths to infants in Ummed Hospital of Jodhpur and said that the Chief Minister should reply on this issue. They started slogan shouting in the well of the House and then walked out. Amdist hues and cries, the Health Minister, Amadduddin Ahmed Khan said that an expert committee of doctors from PGI Chandigarh will enquire this matter.
