BJP President J P Nadda today accused the opposition of waging a direct onslaught on the spirit of the nation and casting aspersions on hardworking citizens. Mr. Nadda's attack on the opposition came in reference to opposition leaders' joint statement in which they criticised the government over the incidents of hate speech and violence.
''
''In a letter to people, Mr. Nadda said, Indian politics has undergone a rapid transformation in the last eight years and the dusted and rusted approach of vote bank politics, divisive and selective politics is no longer working. He said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his emphasis on Sabka Santh, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, every Indian is being empowered and is getting the wings to rise further.
''
''He alleged that the government's push to development politics, resisted by rejected and dejected parties which are taking refuge in vote bank and divisive politics. Mr. Nadda said, today, India is seeing two distinctive styles of politics – the NDA's efforts which are seen in their work and the petty politics of a group of parties, which is seen in their acerbic words.
''
''He said the youth of India want opportunities not obstacles adding that people across all faiths, age groups and different walks of life have come together to defeat poverty and take India to new heights of progress. He asked the opposition to change track and embrace the politics of development. Taking a dig at opposition, Mr. Nadda listed out the violence during a religious procession in Karauli in the Congress-ruled Rajasthan.
''
''He also referred to a number of riots when the opposition, mostly the Congress, was in power and various incidents in opposition-ruled states to hit out at them. The BJP President asked citizens to think ahead and plan for how we all feel the nation must be when the country marks 100 years of Independence in 2047.
