The BJP president Nitin Gadkari Thursday inaugurated the party’s fifth State convention Thamarai Sangamam at Madurai in Tamil Nadu today. He said the interlinking of river waters is needed for agricultural growth and very essential for farmers.Lok Sabha Opposition leader Sushma Swaraj said that BJP is in the forefront in raising the issues of Tamil Nadu fishermen in the parliament. She recalled the visit of the delegation to Sri Lanka to review the rehabilitation of Lankan Tamils. She stressed that a solution to Lankan issue should be brought within the constitutional framework of that country.Senior BJP leader L K Advani, State president Pon Radhakrishnan addressed the convention.
