In Uttar Pradesh the Bharatiya Janata Party has won 10 of the 12 mayor seats in the urban local bodies’ elections. Party has won the Mayoral seats from Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Aligarh, Agra, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Jhansi municipal corporations.Bareilly mayoral seats have gone in the favour of ruling Samajwadi Party supported independent candidates while BSP supported candidate has won Allahabad mayor seat.AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that The BJP has wrested Jhansi Municipal Corporation from Congress and Moradabad from ruling Samajwadi Party.Results for 107 out of 186 Nagar Palika Parishad Chairmen posts and 257 out of 388 Nagar Panchayats chairmen posts have also been declared. Results of more than 7000 out of 10604 ward members’ elections have been announced too.Elections in remaining four districts of Kannauj, Ramabai Nagar, Auriya and Mathura will be held on July 18 and 19.
