BJP Parliamentary party meet underway to chalk out strategy for Winter Session

BJP Parliamentary party executive meeting is underway in New Delhi to chalk out strategy for the Winter Session of Parliament beginning Wednesday.<br/><br/> Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Amit Shah are attending the meet. <br/><br/> It will be followed by meeting of NDA allies. The two meetings will discuss the strategy to counter the opposition parties who are gearing up to corner the government over demonetisation of higher value notes and other pressing issues in Parliament.<br/><br/>Congress and some other parties have sought suspension of business on the opening day of the session to discuss the demonetisation issue. <br/><br/><br/>Meanwhile, Leaders of opposition parties held a strategy meeting ahead of the all-party meeting convened by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in the evening. <br/><br/>Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of TMC, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav , D Raja of CPI and some other leaders participated in the meeting. <br/><br/> West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had spoken to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and CPI(M)'s Sitaram Yechury and other opposition leaders yesterday to fight against the demonetisation, is scheduled to visit Delhi tomorrow. <br/><br/>Ms. Banerjee is reported to be attempting to bring other opposition parties on board for TMC proposed March on Wednesday from Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhawan to petition the President against demonitisations. <br/><br/>Other opposition parties including AAP, SP and BSP are also opposed to the government move.
