BJP parliamentary board meet is underway at party headquarters in New Delhi. The meeting has been convened to discuss the party's strategy in view of assembly election results in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
The board is to discuss possibility of forming an alliance with PDP and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir and also deliberate on its chief ministerial candidate in Jharkhand, where it has got absolute majority. BJP President Amit Shah has already said that all options are open for alliance with other parties to form a government in J&K.
The Parliamentary Board, the highest decision-making body of the party, is likely to appoint observers for both the states for taking further steps in government formation.
The meeting will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj among others.
AIR correspondent reports that a party function scheduled to felicitate the Prime Minister for resounding victory in both the states has been cancelled due to killing of innocent people in Assam by militants.
