BJP will not demand Deputy Chief Minister from its alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal. BJP’s newly elected Legislature Party Chief, Bhagat Chunni Lal and State BJP General Secreatry, Kamal Sharma said the post was never an issue. They said whatever Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal would decide, BJP will abide by it.

At press conference in Jalandhar, Sharma, however said the party will have a total of four ministers in the new cabinet. They will be decided at a central committee meeting on Tuesday, a day before the swearing-in of the new cabinet.

Sharma conceded that representation of BJP ministers will be less this time as the BJP has won less seats as compared to last assembly elections. In the last assembly BJP had 19 seats but this time it had managed to win 12 seats only.
