BJP has expressed concern over the rising food prices and government's inaction in tackling corruption. Briefing the reporters after the first day of the meeting of BJP national executive committee in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad criticized the planning commission's latest poverty bench mark and described it as a cruel joke on the poor. Mr. Prasad said that party will not form any alliance with Samajwadi Party or ruling Bahujan Samaj Party in Legislative Assembly elections scheduled early next year.
The meeting is being held to take stock of the political situation in the country. Except Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and former Karantaka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, all prominent BJP leaders are attending the meet.
