In Uttar Pradesh, the two day BJP national executive meeting ended this evening in Lucknow passing two resolutions on federal system of the country and Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the concluding session senior party leader L.K. Advani announced that his party will conduct public awareness campaign against corruption and black money across the country during next two months. Referring to the proposed LOKPAL bill he said corruption has increased in many folds in the country not due to unavailability of strong law but lack of strong political will against it. Alleging step motherly treatment to non UPA state governments from centre he said if it is not stopped BJP can adopt legal struggle in this regard.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that BJP has demanded immediate implementation of the Sarkaria Commission recommendations on centre state relations to strengthen federal structure of the country. In its resolution on federal system of the country Party has also demanded to obtain greater empowerment of the Inter State Council and independent appointments of Chiefs of CBI, CAG and the CVC. Party has also opposed formation of the National Investigation Agency terming it as contrary to federal spirit of the country.In its resolution on the situations in Uttar Pradesh, the party has held BSP and Samajwadi Party governments responsible for backwardness of the state. Party has alleged that anarchy is prevailing in the state and constitutional and elected institutions have been weakened. In its resolution party has also alleged that farmers are not getting suitable prices for their products and even seeds and fertilisers are also not available to them due to bad governance. Mentioning poor power situation in the state party has alleged that figures about power production and distribution made by the state government are bogus.
