BJP National Council meets in New Delhi today

BJP National Council will meet in New Delhi today to discuss issues related to party organization. The daylong meeting will ratify the appointment of Amit Shah as the party President. The council will start with an address by the party leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and party President Amit Shah. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give concluding remarks in the evening. Senior party leader L K Advani and Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari and Chief Ministers of party ruled states are also scheduled to address the meeting. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that around two thousand BJP office bearers from different states would attend the meet.

It will be the first National Council meeting of the party after its victory in the Lok Sabha elections and formation of government at the Centre. The council will adopt a resolution that will focus on the political and economic issues as well as the initiatives taken by the BJP-led government at the Centre and its roadmap ahead. The meeting is significant in view of upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashimr.
