The BJP has formally announced Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The decision was taken at the party Parliamentary Board meeting in New Delhi Friday evening.
However, party's senior most leader L K Advani was not present at the meeting.
When asked about his absence from the meeting, party President Rajnath Singh said that Modi would go to Advani's residence to seek his blessings.
