Several BJP MPs from Rajya Sabha today came in support of Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and chanted Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue outside Parliament.

The MPs offered prayers seeking, what they said, grant of wisdom to opposition as they are obstructing the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha on the derogatory remarks made by Ms. Jyoti.

Later, talking to AIR, BJP leader and Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot alleged that the opposition is targeting Ms. Jyoti as she hails from poor and backward class.

He said the Congress and other opposition parties are un-necessarily raising the issue even after the minister in question apologized.
