BJP MPs from Odisha demand implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in state

BJP Members of Parliament from Odisha have demanded the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state. A delegation of BJP MPs led by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi yesterday and handed over him a memorandum to this effect.
''
''"Pitching for their demand, the delegation submitted that the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana- the state's own version of health care scheme- has failed to account for about 25 lakh odia migrants who are working outside the state. The implementation of the Pan India Ayushman Bharat Yojana can effectively address this gap while benefiting the people of the state in general- they said. The non-implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Odisha despite the elapse of three years from its nationwide roll out in 2018 has deprived about 60 lakh beneficiaries of the state from availing the health care benefits-the delegation has reasoned out before the centre.
